EVERETT — A former Snohomish County solid waste director has settled a lawsuit in which he claimed he was forced from his job for trying to bring about reforms.
Sam Chandler received $45,000 from the county in exchange for dropping his claims, according to settlement papers signed in April.
A lawsuit he filed in Snohomish County Superior Court in 2009 was later moved to federal court.
Chandler headed the county’s solid waste division from July 2006 until October 2008. He oversaw 160 employees.
After leaving Snohomish County, Chandler was hired for a similar job in California.
