A former Jackson High School student was charged Tuesday with e-mailing bomb threats to the school in November and December.
Jacob Choi-Kang, 18, of Mill Creek faces a felony charge. In at least one case, the school was evacuated while authorities searched the facility. No bombs were found.
The threats started on a Sunday when an e-mail was sent to several staff members.
In part, the message said "do as I say or I’ll blow the school away. … Jackson will be gone just like the twin towers."
Police traced the e-mail address to a computer in Mill Creek, and Choi-Kang was questioned, court documents said. The defendant originally denied sending the threats, blaming them on a friend. He later admitted sending them, court papers said.
Choi-Kang has no previous criminal history. Everett School District officials said records show he is no longer a student at the school.
