TRIANGLE LAKE, Ore. — Rescue crews from Oregon, Washington and California continued to search Tuesday for a small plane that was reported missing on Dec. 11 as it flew from California to Port Angeles, an emergency official said.
Bad weather during the past week has prevented search planes from looking along the coast, said Georges Kleinbaum, search and rescue coordinator with Oregon Emergency Management.
Flight data indicated that the plane disappeared from radar screens near Brookings, just north of the Oregon-California border.
The pilot was identified as Yury Avrutin and the passenger as Dengt-Olou Sjostrom by Air Force Rescue Center officials in Langley, Va.
