Lakewood: Girl loses arm in jet ski accident
A 10-year-old girl lost an arm Sunday when it was pulled off during a jet skiing accident on Lake Goodwin, a Marysville fire official said.
The girl’s name, hometown and condition were not available.
The girl had tied her arm to the jet ski with a rope, apparently to keep her in range of the vehicle in case she fell off, said Marysville Fire Department spokesman Nathan Trauernicht.
The girl was skiing with two friends, he said. Shortly after 5 p.m., she fell off the jet ski and her arm was severed, he said. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Members of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office dive team searched the lake for the arm, Trauernicht said.
No other details were available.
