EVERETT — Friends of a 14-year-old girl choked and stabbed as she walked to school conducted another candlelight vigil Wednesday night as the girl continued to recover at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The girl’s mother told a friend Tuesday that doctors planned to remove the tube that has helped the girl breathe. She remained in serious condition in the pediatric intensive care unit.
Her mother appealed through television news reports for anyone who has any information about the assault to call police during business hours at 425-252-8400 or call the police tip line at 425-257-8450.
Neighbors and friends gathered more candles Wednesday for the vigil. A vigil Tuesday night at the site where the attack occurred drew parents and Cascade High School students, as well as neighbors. The girl is a Cascade freshman.
She was walking to a friend’s house early Monday and the two then were to ride a bus to school. The girl was attacked on the Interurban Trail just north of 112th Street SE. She was choked and repeatedly stabbed.
Police are continuing their investigation and have questioned several people but have made no arrests in the case.
