Everett superintendent search
The Everett School District plans to host a series of meet-and-greet sessions Wednesday afternoon with finalists to succeed retiring superintendent Gary Cohn.
Groups will have the chance to meet with three finalists individually at the district’s headquarters at 3900 Broadway in Everett.
The first session is set to start at 5:45 p.m., the second at 6:45 p.m. and the third at 7:45 p.m.
The school board is on course to make a decision Thursday and have the new superintendent begin work July 1.

Brief Jordan Bridge closure
The Jordan Bridge, and access to the river from Jordan Road, will be closed Wednesday and Thursday for Snohomish County PUD maintenance. The suspension bridge over the South Fork Stillaguamish River near Granite Falls is scheduled to reopen Friday.
Light rail presentation by Sound Transit
The transit agency will be presenting a construction update on the Lynnwood Link Extension to the Everett City Council on Wednesday.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation is set to take place early in the agenda. An overview of the Everett Link Extension is also on the schedule. It will take place at council chambers at 2930 Wetmore Ave.

Public hearings on affordable housing
Organizations around Snohomish County are hosting three affordable housing public hearings. Provide input on the greatest needs in the county that will help guide how federal funds are used.
• 3–4:30 p.m. June 4 at the Housing Authority of Snohomish County, Grand Canyon Room, 12711 4th Ave. W., Everett
• 5–6:30 p.m. June 4 at the Marysville City Council Chambers, 1049 State Ave., Second Floor, Marysville
• 5:30–7 p.m. June 5, at Sultan City Hall, 319 Main Street, #200, Sultan

Battle of the Books
Edmonds School District’s Battle of the Books is set to go down at 10 a.m. Friday at Mountlake Terrace Elementary School, 22001 52nd Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Donations for books and T-shirts can be made at the school.
