Darrington music fest
Summer Meltdown, four days of music, art, camping and workshops, is set for Aug. 1-4 at Darrington Bluegrass Music Park, 42501 Highway 530, Darrington.
More than 40 acts will perform at the festival. Genres include rock ‘n’ roll, electronic, alternative, hip hop, funk, folk, jazz, soul, reggae and blues on four stages.

Criminal justice session
If you have finished what the court has ordered, the Snohomish County Branch of the NAACP will support you in clearing your name and registering to vote. Information session to find out your rights and what steps to take to get them back is to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
A chicken dinner at the Stillaguamish Senior Center is offered for all ages from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Menu includes roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, coleslaw, roll and a pudding dessert.
Cost is $10 for adults, seniors $8, and children under 12 are $5. Proceeds benefit the senior center. Canned goods for the food bank are welcome.

Music at the Marina is a weekly summer series from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at Port Gardner Landing, 1700 W. Marine View Drive, Everett. Shaggy Sweet performs tonight. It’s a summer dance party with a waterfront backdrop. Bring a picnic, chairs or blankets. Free, but there’s a $2 fee (cash only) for parking.
Interested in anime? Already a fan or curious to know what it’s all about? Join the Anime Club from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., for old and new favorites, plus snacks and socializing. The club is for teens going into grades 6-12.
The Bard of Whidbey
The Island Shakespeare Festival runs through Sept. 1. Showtime is 6 p.m. with matinees at 1 p.m. at 5476 Maxwelton Road, Langley. Shows include “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Winter’s Tale.”

Edmonds parking study
To launch a downtown parking study the city of Edmonds is hosting a public meeting to seek ideas for issues that should be studied. The event is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 in the Brackett Room on the third floor of City Hall, 121 5th Ave N.
An online forum is available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/HJ7L28Q. It will run through Aug. 12. After the conclusion of the public comment period, the city will finalize the scope of the parking study.
