Bands to battle in Everett
The 23rd annual Puget Sound Festival of Bands is planned for 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 23 at Everett Memorial Stadium, 3900 Broadway.
The festival is hosted by Cascade High School.
More than 30 bands from all over the state are registered for the competition. Tickets, $14 for adults, $7 for youth, are available at the gate.

Tell us about holiday fun: The Herald seeks your information for its annual holiday events calendar.

The calendar will first appear in either the Nov. 19 or 26 issue of A&E, and will continue to appear in A&E through the holiday season.
Meetings set for annexation: The city of Mukilteo has scheduled an open house about its annexation proposal.
It’s planned for 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday night at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. in Mukilteo.
City voters will have the opportunity to weigh in on annexation in an advisory ballot Nov. 2.
