Free lunch for kids
South Everett Neighborhood Center is offering a free summer lunch program.
Ages 2 to 18 may get lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. The program begins Monday and ends July 23.
Pick up lunch at Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road in Everett.
Also find a meal at 11:30 a.m. weekdays at Zion Lutheran Church, 634 S. Alger Ave. in Everett. Lunches will be served at Zion through July 30.
The meal is also sponsored by the Everett School District, both churches and Memorial Community Church.
Golf for a cause: Arlington’s Community Development Director David Kuhl and other city employees are planning a golf tournament to raise funds for a new gateway sign for Arlington.
The tournament is set for Aug. 7 at Gleneagle Golf Course. Cost is $65 for golf, lunch and use of a cart.
The city employees are recruiting hole sponsors, prize sponsors and players. Team registrations are being taken at the city permit center, 238 N. Olympic Ave.

Race in Mill Creek: The Run of the Mill 5K race/walk is planned for Saturday. Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $35 for adults, and kids 15 and younger pay their age plus $15.
Entry fees are donated to a fund supporting Providence Regional Cancer Partnership patients during their cancer treatment. Last year, the event raised $38,000.
