Memorial for teen
Friends of Russelle Yap have planned a memorial service for the 17-year-old drowning victim today at Cascade High School, 801 E. Casino Road, Everett.
Everyone is encouraged to meet at the high school tennis courts at 2 p.m. for a moment of silence. The crowd will then go into the gymnasium to share memories of Russelle.
The memorial will end with refreshments of root beer floats, Russelle’s favorite treat. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, his favorite color.

Renew licenses online: Summer is always a busy time of year in state driver licensing offices, and legislatively mandated furlough days are driving up customer wait times.
Department of Licensing offices across the state serve about 33,000 customers each day, and data shows 2,000 of them didn’t need to wait in line.
Every day, more than 2,000 customers who buy a copy of their driving record, or renew or replace their driver license or ID card, could have done it online. By eliminating these transactions from licensing offices, customers that must visit an office for more complex transactions can be helped faster.

The 6 p.m. parade will begin on Hartford Drive, near the Lake Stevens Fire Station 81. Registration before the parade by calling Sue Fernalld, 425-789-1298 or go to www.aquafest.org.
