Get rid of old tires
There will be a reduced-cost tire recycling event for Island County residents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Whidbey and Camano Islands.
On Whidbey, go to the Coupeville Solid Waste Facility, 20018 Highway 20 behind the recycling area. On Camano, look for signs behind the CASA Animal Shelter at 198 Can Ku Road.
Volunteers from Washington State University Waste Wise and WSU Beach Watchers will gather tires at a reduced rate from the regular transfer station prices.
