Open house on new Mukilteo ferry terminal
Washington State Ferries and the city of Mukilteo host an open house about the new ferry terminal, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 in the Point Elliott Room at the Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.
Learn more about what to expect during construction and how the project takes environmental concerns into consideration, and provide feedback on plans to improve traffic near the new terminal site.
The first phase of construction, to remove the tank farm pier, is anticipated to begin in spring 2015.
Bird show: A presentation on birds and other wildlife in the suburbs by famed University of Washington wildlife researcher John Marzluff will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Northwest Stream Center, located in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Driving safety class: A “55 Alive” defensive driving class is offered 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 14-15 at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Cost is $12 for AARP members, $14 non-members. To sign up, call 360-653-4551.
