Meet the Marysville mayor

Marysville residents can meet with Mayor Dennis Kendall and incoming Mayor Jon Nehring at a coffee klatsch on Tuesday.

The event is being hosted by ServPro at 10 a.m. at 13421 39th Ave. NE in Marysville.

Marysville residents who have issues to discuss or who want to wish Kendall and Nehring congratulations and best of luck in their next ventures are welcome to join them for coffee and doughnuts.

EdCC seeks a president: Edmonds Community College is accepting applications for president. Jack Oharah, who led the college for 14 years, has announced his intention to retire at the end the year.

The president of Edmonds Community College serves as the college’s chief executive officer on a 50-acre campus. The Board of Trustees opened a national search for a new president this month. The deadline to apply for full consideration is 3 p.m. July 20. The college seeks a candidate with a doctorate or master’s degree and a minimum of three years of senior-level administrative experience, preferably at a community college.

Deadline for grant-seekers: The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation awards community grants to nonprofit organizations that benefit Stanwood and Camano Island. Grant applications and guidelines are at www.s-caf.org. Applications are due to the foundation on or before Thursday.

Previous recipients include the Camano Animal Shelter, Josephine Sunset Home and the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
