Zippy’s goes tapping
A “Take Back the Tap Party” is planned in Everett.
Zippy’s Java Lounge &Green Everett offer the festivities at 3 p.m. Sunday at 1804 Hewitt Ave.
Folks will gather to pour bottled water into a pool, then fill each bottle with fake money. After that they will connect the bottles and float them in the pool to represent all the money spent on bottled water and how so many of these bottles end up in the ocean as toxic waste.
They will also celebrate the restaurant’s fifth anniversary.
Hunt treasure in Mukilteo: A Treasure Hunt for Waterfront Wednesday begins at 5 tonight in Mukilteo.
Get a map at Red Cup Cafe, 619 Fourth St. or at the Art Building, 724 First St., upper level.
A grand prize drawing will take place at the Red Cup Cafe at 8 p.m.
There will be gift bags, gift cards and coupons from local business for all participants.
Golf in Arlington: Arlington’s community development director David Kuhl and other city employees are planning a golf tournament to raise funds for a new gateway sign for Arlington.
The tournament is set for Aug. 7 at Gleneagle Golf Course. Cost is $65 for golf, lunch and use of a cart.
The city employees are recruiting hole sponsors, prize sponsors and players. Register teams at the city permit center 238 N. Olympic Ave.
