Talking education
Herald reporter Eric Stevick will be a guest on on KING-TV, Channel 5’s “New Day Northwest” program at 11 a.m. Monday.
On May 30, Stevick reported on a gender gap in grades earned by high school boys and girls in the county.
It found girls are more likely to have grade-point averages in the A and B range and boys had a better chance of earning D’s and F’s.
Get ready for fall crops: Master Gardener Pam Shoberg will teach a class, “Growing Crops for Fall and Winter Harvests,” today in Stanwood.
It’s planned for 11 a.m. at Stanwood Country Store, 8815 271st St. NW in Stanwood.
Hours spent attending this class will count toward master gardener continuing education requirements.
Gift from McDonald’s: Congratulations if you own Shrek glasses that sold for about $2 at McDonald’s.
You own a collector’s item. But don’t use it.
Cadmium was discovered in the painted design on “Shrek” character drinking glasses, forcing the burger giant to recall 12 million glasses.
Honor veterans: Mukilteo Historical Society offers an event to honor veterans at 2 p.m. Sunday at Centennial Park, 1126 Fifth St. in Mukilteo.
