Wolverine talk
People will have a chance Thursday to learn more about one of the more rare and interesting neighbors we have in Western Washington: wolverines.
Keith Aubry, with the U.S. Forest Service, plans to share new information about wolverines in a talk at 7 p.m. at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center in McCollum Park, 600 128th Street SE.
In his talk, Aubrey will separate facts from myth and discuss whether the wolverine is as dangerous as its reputation. He will discuss the latest information from radio collars about where wolverines have been tracked.
The talk costs $5 for Adopt A Stream Foundation members, $7 for nonmembers.
Registration is required by calling 425-316-8592. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s Streamkeeper Academy.
National Trails Day: Volunteers are needed to help repair trails, fix bridges, clear brush and more on Saturday on state trust lands across the state as part of National Trails Day.
National Trails Day was created by the American Hiking Society in 1993.
