Prepare for disasters
The Stanwood-Camano Fire Department and Island County Department of Emergency Management offer Map Your Neighborhood facilitator training at 5 p.m. Monday at the Camano Fire District Administration Building conference room, 811 N. Sunrise Blvd., Camano Island.
Map Your Neighborhood is a program designed to help neighbors prepare for disasters. Learn how to facilitate a neighborhood meeting and the nine steps to take immediately following a disaster.
The training and materials are free.

Support cancer research: A luau auction is planned, from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, at Fireplace Tavern, 2320 Everett Ave. in Everett, to support the American Cancer Society.

Moms gear up for powder-puff football: The Arlington Youth Football Association is planning a powder-puff football game set for 5 p.m. Sunday at the old high school stadium at Haller Middle School, 600 E. First St.
The Lakewood Cougar moms plan to play the Arlington Eagle moms.
Tickets are $5 or $10 for a family. Proceeds benefit scholarships for kids in low-income families.
Sunday chicken dinner: Stillaguamish Senior Center offers a family-style Sunday chicken dinner from noon to 2 p.m. July 25 at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.
Proceeds benefit senior center programs.
