Hamster derby
Petco stores host a Hamster Ball derby at 2 p.m. April 24 at stores in Everett, Marysville and Lynnwood.
Registration and practice rounds begin at 1:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.
Bring your own ball. The hamsters will be inside balls that roll around a track. Check with your local store for more details.
Dance on Camano Island: Dance to big band music by Camano Junction at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Senior and Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road on Camano Island.
It costs $10, or $7 for members.
Classes for home-schoolers: The Granite Falls School District is starting a class for home-schooled middle school students.
The class will start with a unit on Greek history and include lessons in reading, art and language arts.
Students will meet with a teacher from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. every Friday in a classroom at the Crossroads Alternative High School campus, 405 N. Alder Ave.
Students are welcome to stay until 2 p.m. to work on other subjects or use the computer lab.

Car wash for March for Babies: Team Supporters, a group of Snohomish County residents who are raising funds for the March of Dimes Snohomish County March for Babies, will hold a car wash to raise funds.
The car wash is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Les Schwab Tire Center, 16607 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington.
