Winter beach walk

Take a winter walk Saturday at Cama Beach State Park on Camano Island.

It’s hosted by Friends of Camano Island Parks. Meet at 9:50 a.m. at the northeast section of Cama Beach State Park, at the Ivy Road and Dry Lake Road junction, and proceed to the beach.

Cama Beach State Park is located at 1880 SW Camano Drive on Camano Island.

The walk will include the Cranberry Lake trail and Welcome Center loop for a total of 3.5 miles with some up and down portions. Shuttle vehicles will return walkers to the parking area.

The walk takes place rain or shine. Dress accordingly.

Free violin concert tonight: Cuban-born violinist Jaime Jorge entertains at 7 tonight at Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27108 102nd Ave. NW in Stanwood.

He has played in a multitude of settings from high school auditoriums to Carnegie Hall, on five continents, and in more than 35 countries.

Auditions for cheer squad: Snohomish County Vikings cheer squad offers auditions at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday and Feb. 11 at the Snohomish County PUD, 21018 Highway 99 in Edmonds.

The Vikings are an adult semi-pro football team. The goal of the league is to give athletes the chance to show their talents and earn an opportunity to play at the next level, whether that is collegiate or professionally. Athletes in the NWFL are not paid so they retain their college eligibility
