Primer on winter birds
Snohomish County Parks &Recreation and the Adopt-A-Stream Foundation’s Streamkeeper Academy offers a program about Washington’s White Birds of Winter.
It’s planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at 600 128th St. SE in Everett.
Martha Jordan, a well-known biologist and director of the Washington Swan Working Group, is the presenter.
See photographs on a big screen and learn about the best places to view local birds.

The program is recommended for fifth-graders and older.
Meetings on housing block grant: The city of Everett’s Citizens Advisory Committee for Housing and Community Development plans a series of meetings to gather recommendations on how to spend federal and state housing grants at 4 p.m. beginning this Wednesday and continuing every Wednesday in February.
The committee plans to meet in the hearing room, eighth floor of the Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave., Everett.
Mill Creek Senior Center breakfast: The Mill Creek Senior Center is having a breakfast to raise funds for their new center location.
It’s planned for 7:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the North Creek Retirement Community, 1907 201st Place SE in Bothell. There will be pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, milk and orange juice.
