Liquor store hours
State liquor stores will stay open until 6 p.m. Thursday and be closed Friday.

Letters and packages move along: All post offices will be open Thursday and New Year’s Eve. Tuesday’s Front Porch said post offices around the country were closing at noon Thursday. Ernie Swanson, spokesman for the Seattle District Office, said all post offices in this area will be open all day Thursday.
Customers may call 800-ASK-USPS for information about specific offices. In addition, mail should be deposited into blue collection mailboxes before noon for early pick-up on Thursday and Dec. 31.
Post offices will be closed Friday and Jan. 1. Express mail only will be delivered on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in most large cities.

Government: Federal, state and local offices are closed.
Schools: Closed.
Commerce: Most businesses and banks are closed.
Transportation: Everett Transit, Community Transit and Dial-A-Ride Transportation are on Sunday schedules. For ferry information, visit www. wsdot.wa.gov/ferries or call 888-808-7977.
The Herald: Classified and reception will be closed. For delivery, call 425-339-3200 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.
