Puppets come to life

Her program, “Puppets, Puppets, Puppets,” is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at 23300 58th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace.
See hand puppets, shadow puppets, marionettes, rod puppets and more, collected over a quarter of a century in puppet theater.

Honoring Civil War veterans: The 11th annual “Honoring Their Memory” Civil War ceremony is planned for Saturday.
It’s at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, 8601 Riverview Road in Snohomish.
The re-enactment commemorates the 144th anniversary of the ending of the war.
Members of the Washington Civil War Association, Union Veterans and the Sons of Confederate Veterans will attend.
Events begin at noon with the opening of a small encampment.
At 1 p.m. there will be a battlefield skirmish, and at 2 p.m. is the ceremony remembering both sides of the conflict.
Posted at each of the more than 150 Civil War veteran grave sites will be a placard on the veteran’s life.
