Luncheon fundraiser
Help “Take a Bite Out of Domestic Violence” at a luncheon fundraiser, noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Outback Steakhouse in Everett. The cost is $15 and includes salad, grilled chicken or steak, mashed potatoes and a beverage. A portion of proceeds benefit Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County.
A silent auction also is planned. Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped gift or gift card for adults or children to kickstart the nonprofit’s holiday gift drive. Reservations are highly recommended. Contact Stephanie Civey at stephanie@dvs-snoco.org or 425-259-2827, ext. 1013.
Check on neighborhood crime: Snohomish County again has free online maps where people can check on crime data in their neighborhoods. The service is at communitycrimemap.com. The Everett Police Department is already live there, and other local agencies will be added in the coming weeks, officials said. If people have questions about police activity in their area, the map is a good place to check, usually within a day or two.
Some data is limited to blocks to avoid giving addresses of crime victims. Not all crimes are included in the public reports. People also can sign up for alerts for specific crimes or areas. A similar service used to be provided but has been unavailable for some time.
