Code changes in Lynnwood: The city of Lynnwood has decided to allow mother-in-law apartments in certain areas. The council voted unanimously Dec. 12, after a public hearing.
The new rules are designed for those who would like to have a detached living space for their parents or grown children, documents show. The dwellings cannot have more than two bedrooms, among many other requirements.
The city of Everett is considering a similar change in rules. That discussion continues before the planning commission with a public hearing set for Jan. 3.
Need an ambulance?: The Oso Fire Department is selling a 1999 ambulance as surplus. Bids from the public are accepted in writing until Jan. 10.
The ambulance is painted red. It has 170,000 miles and no warranty. For more information, go to www.facebook.com/OsoFireDepartment.
