Discover Lake Stevens: People can enter to win prizes while learning about local businesses this month. Discover Lake Stevens passes can be picked up at the visitor information center at Lundeen Park. After getting stamps from five of the 10 businesses listed on the pass, it can be tossed into a kayak during the Discover Lake Stevens Expo on April 29 to be entered into a drawing for prizes. One of the prizes is the kayak. The expo goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lake Stevens High School.
Fruit and vegetable giveaway: Molina Healthcare will give away grocery bags with fresh fruits and vegetables to the first 80 attendees at an event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its medical clinic at 15 SW Everett Mall Way. The event will includes raffles and healthy snacks.
Learn to boat: The Lake Stevens Police Department plans an “Adventures in Boating” class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 29. The $15 class is taught by officers with marine experience. It fulfills the requirements for a state boater education card, though the state requires a written exam. State law requires most boat operators to have the card. The location is 12309 22nd St. NE.
