HEADS UP
New HOV lanes open on I-90
New around-the-clock high occupancy vehicle lanes will open Sunday in each direction of I-90 between Seattle and Bellevue, effectively extending the carpool lane to Issaquah.
Once the new HOV lanes open to traffic, the I-90 express lanes will permanently close, and Sound Transit will begin to construct the 14-mile East Link light rail extension from Seattle to Redmond.
The I-90 trail will remain open and unchanged for those who use it to bike, run or walk. Buses between Seattle and the Eastside will continue to use the same routes and stops they do today.
