Chicken dinner in Arlington
Enjoy a family-style chicken dinner, noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.
The monthly dinner includes roasted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, coleslaw, roll, drink and dessert for $9, $8 for seniors, $5 for children younger than 12. Proceeds benefit senior center programs and services. Take-out dinners are available.

Open house on road projects
Snohomish County Public Works hosts an open house Tuesday to discuss five road projects near Bothell and Mill Creek. Drop in any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at North Creek Presbyterian Church, 621 164th St. SE, Mill Creek.

–43rd Avenue SE (Sunset Road) between Highway 524 and 180th Street SE (design)

– 180th Street SE (Phase I), between Highway 527 and 23rd Avenue SE (pending construction funds)
– 196th Street SE (Grannis Road) between 22nd Avenue SE and 189th Place SE (construction scheduled in 2018)

Run of the Mill affects streets
The Run of the Mill 5K takes place in Mill Creek on Saturday. Up to 800 participants are expected. Some streets will be closed for the event, including Main Street.

OPPORTUNITY
Tall ship needs captains
Skilled maritime workers are hard to come by, but this vessel in need of captains is particularly unique: Lady Washington. The 18th century replica brig cuts a fine picture through local waters each summer. It needs more captains at its helm.
Launched in 1989 as part of the state’s centennial, the wooden-hulled Lady Washington has appeared in several TV shows and movies, including “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.” The ship recently departed Foss Waterway Seaport to sail into Friday Harbor and other state ports into the fall.
Want to come aboard? Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, the nonprofit that operates Lady Washington, seeks interested mariners holding a 100-ton captain’s license for training.
