Swift Green Line open house

Community Transit plans an open house about the Swift Green Line, 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Northwest Stream Center building at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SW, Everett. The bus rapid transit route will connect Boeing and Paine Field with Canyon Park. Work has already started on a new transit center. Crews also are preparing to add bus lanes on 128th Street at I-5.

Create Rube Goldberg machines

Teens can create Rube Goldberg machines using snap-together electronic components called Little Bits at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave. Compete solo or in teams to see whose machine can turn on a tiny light using the most steps.

Sign up for babysitting class

The Granite Falls fire department still has spots available in a babysitting class that runs July 25-26. The cost is $25. The target age for participants is 11-14.

Sketch the mountains

Join artist Molly Hashimoto for some “Mountain Sketching,” 2:30 p.m. July 22 at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Learn how to sketch and paint outdoors with lightweight materials, creating small landscapes that you can do quickly.
