Health expo planned in Stanwood
The Stanwood Community and Senior Center plans a Wellness Expo, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 15 at 7430 276th St. NW. Health vendors and speakers will offer information about diabetic foot care, Medicare, resources and more. Find free blood pressure and sugar checks, giveaways and door prizes. Lunch will be available for purchase.

Old Timers picnic nears
The Skykomish Old Timers Picnic is set for 11 a.m. to dusk July 15 at the Skykomish Ballpark off U.S. 2 at City Ball Park Drive. The picnic serves as a decennial class reunion, this year for the classes of 1947 to 2007. There’s also a raffle, kids games, recognition of Mr. and Mrs. Old Timers, food available for purchase and camping for attendees.

Meet candidates for political office
People have a chance to mingle with Everett mayoral and City Council candidates, as well as County Council hopefuls, at an event scheduled July 19 in downtown Everett.
It’s set from 5 to 7 p.m. at 3013 Colby Ave. GroWashington, a nonprofit that promotes small businesses, is hosting the forum.
Four candidates are running to take over for Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson, who plans to step down at the end of the year. Three Everett City Council incumbents each face two challengers. Three of the five County Council seats are contested.
The top two finishers in the Aug. 1 primary will advance to the general election in November.
