Egyptian Bazaar in Lynnwood

St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church presents its annual Egyptian Bazaar, noon to 8 p.m. Saturday. The event will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Admission is free.

The event features authentic Egyptian cuisine and pastries, Egyptian arts and crafts, day care and a bouncy house for the kids, raffle tickets, face painting, live music and more.

Garage sale aids library

The Friends of the Arlington Library garage sale is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday across the street from the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave.

All proceeds support library activities.

Restaurant fundraiser for library

A Kids Sunday and Book Drive is set for noon to 2 p.m. Sunday outside Boston’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, 15310 Main St., Mill Creek. Each donation earns a free kids meal coupon. All proceeds go to the Mill Creek Library.

Map your Mill Creek neighborhood

A free 90-minute Map Your Neighborhood workshop is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall South, 15728 Main St. It covers the first nine steps to take immediately following a disaster and teaches people how to work with their neighbors address safety concerns.

Another workshop is scheduled for Oct. 4.

This program is garbage

What happens to your plastic bags when they’re full of holes? What about your empty pop bottle? Or an old paint can? While they might look like ordinary garbage, some people see a purse, a house, a school or even an entire orchestra.

Learn about upcycling, discover the real people who changed their lives and their communities by turning trash into treasures, and make your own upcycled art to take home at “This Program is Garbage.” For school-age children.
