Guns ‘n’ Hoses charity softball game Tuesday
The annual Lake Stevens Guns ‘n’ Hoses Softball Challenge that pits police against firefighters to bring in donations for the Lake Stevens Food Bank is set for Tuesday. The event starts with a scheduled visit at 5 p.m. by an Airlift Northwest helicopter, calls permitting. A $5 barbecue dinner is at 5:30 p.m., followed by the game at 6. Events are at the Lake Stevens High School ball field at 2908 113th Ave. NE.
Admission is free. Donations of rice and dried beans are encouraged.

Bothell Youth Court seeks volunteers
The Bothell Youth Court provides community service and self-reflection alternatives for first-time traffic offenders. The Bothell Youth Court meets once a month, presided over by a youth judge, witnessed by an all-youth jury, with cases presented by youth attorneys. Young people interested in learning more about the court system are invited to volunteer.

Everett: The nonprofit Providence General Children’s Association needs volunteers at the Providence Regional Medical Center Pacific and Colby campus gift shops for four-hour shifts, day or evening, two or more times per month.

Everett Community College’s Volunteer Literacy Program seeks volunteers to tutor adults learning basic reading, writing and math skills and students learning English.
