Stillaguamish Valley Pioneers celebrate

The Stillaguamish Valley Pioneers holds its 105th picnic at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Pioneer Hall, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington. This year’s event celebrates the 20th anniversary of the museum.

Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Annual membership dues of $10 can be paid then. The potluck picnic starts at 12:30 p.m. Bring a dish to share, as well as your own plates and utensils.

A short meeting will include a movie showing how the museum was built, and a slide show of some of the museum’s artifacts. The museum will open after the event.

Cornhole tournament at Taste of Edmonds

The Taste of Edmonds runs Friday to Sunday at Civic Playfield, 310 Sixth Ave. N. Admission is $5 daily (age 12 and younger are free). Find arts and crafts, entertainment and a children’s area in addition to food trucks.

New this year is a cornhole tournament in the beer garden. Teams need to sign up before Friday for a chance to compete and win the top $500 prize. Entry is $50 per two-player team and includes event admission and a drink ticket.

The Taste is the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraiser of the year and helps support local nonprofits. Tips from the beer and wine gardens, for example, are used for the Edmonds Boys &Girls Club.

Writing on the wall

The Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission presents an exhibit of art by Write On Calligraphers through August at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. The nonprofit calligraphy group meets in Edmonds.

The Mukilteo Library celebrates its annual Storytime Carnival with train rides, stories and crafts, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday. The library is at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. For ages 2 to 5.

Health group to meet

The North Sound Behavioral Health Organization, which includes Snohomish County, plans its regular monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at 301 Valley Mall Way, Suite 110, in Mount Vernon. The group coordinates behavioral health services in a five-county region.
