Funko behind scenes

Funko plans to distribute tickets for the Aug. 19 grand opening tour of its new headquarters and store in downtown Everett.

The toy and collectibles maker will offer tickets to as many people as possible. Ticket distribution will begin at 7 a.m. at the Wetmore Plaza, across California Street from the Funko building. Tickets will be for timed sessions throughout the day.

The company has relocated from south Everett to 2802 Wetmore Ave.

Lodge fundraiser

The Edmonds Sons of Norway Lodge hosts a summer yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 8928 Main St. All proceeds go to lodge programs and local causes, including the Edmonds Food Bank, Ski for Light outings for mobility- and sight-impaired skiers, scholarships and the Sons of Norway Foundation.

Coffee with the mayor

Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring is hosting a coffee and conversation hour at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., on Thursday. People who live and work in Marysville are invited to visit between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. RSVP by Tuesday to ltocco@marysvillewa.gov.

Rock and gem sale

The Maplewood Rock and Gem Club of Edmonds holds its annual rock and gem sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 8802 196th St. SW. Admission is free. Kids get a free rock and can enjoy a free beading table. The event includes displays and demonstrations. The club meets at 7 p.m. on third Monday of each month.

Learn about space

Spots are filling up for the Mariner Library’s “Suited for Space” program with the Museum of Flight. The program, set for Aug. 21, invites young people to work in small groups and build “space suits” from household materials to protect a marshmallow “astronaut” from the effects of a vacuum chamber. Registration is required. The library is at 520 128th St. SW.

Heritage Days at park

A free History and Heritage Day runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way, Lynnwood. Tour Interurban Car 55, watch a giant Lego build, explore local history and genealogy resources, tour the Northwest Veterans Museum and more.

Brunch on Camano

The Camano Island Yacht Club holds a buffet brunch, 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at 129 N Sunset Drive. Cost is $10, $5 for children younger than age 9, for a traditional breakfast buffet. Omelets are $1 extra.
