Strum that ukulele with friends

The Sky River Strummers are a group of ukulele players who get together to “uke” around monthly at the Monroe Library. The next meet-up is 5:45 p.m. Thursday. There’s no cost and no membership.

Sausage Fest set for this weekend

The annual Sausage Fest runs Friday to Sunday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2619 Cedar St., Everett. Admission is free. The popular festival includes entertainment, beer and wine gardens, carnival rides, vendors, bingo, kids activities, a raffle — and, of course, a Bavarian Dinner Haus to serve up the sausage.

A shuttle bus will run every 20 minutes from the south parking lot B of the Everett Transit Center.

Tools for caregivers

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” a six-week educational series for spouses, adult children and others serving as caregivers, will be held 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 5 to Nov. 9, at the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. Classes are free, but space is limited and registration is required.

Sew doll clothes for Christmas House

Come for an hour or all day Sunday to help create doll clothes to benefit children served by Christmas House. The charitable sewing party runs noon to 5 p.m. at Quality Sewing and Vacuum, 10121 Evergreen Way, Everett.

Doll clothes will be for 18-inch dolls. Bring your sewing machine, fabric scraps and sewing supplies. Don’t sew? Come cut out the pieces for others to sew. Fabric, trim and completed outfits also can be taken to Quality Sewing prior to the event.
