Eileen Bjorkman offers a personal take on the history of building an aircraft in your garage that you can legally fly at “Propeller Under the Bed,” 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Bjorkman will discuss how the home-built aircraft movement has contributed to aviation and innovation in America.

Pet microchips at CASA
The Camano Animal Shelter Association plans a free microchip clinic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at 198 Can Ku Road, Camano Island. Microchips will be added to cats and dogs only. Cats must arrive in a carrier; dogs must be leashed.

Donation drive for Chase Lake school
Instead of bringing your donation pile to Goodwill, take it to Edmonds Lutheran Church on Oct. 8. Donations will end up at Goodwill, but the nonprofit will donate $600 to the Chase Lake Safety Net program if donors fill a 28-foot truck. The donation drive runs noon to 4 p.m. at 23525 84th Ave. W, Edmonds.

Walk to support disease research
Local families are helping organize a Walk Strong to Cure JM fundraiser on Oct. 7 at Marymoor Park in Redmond. Proceeds benefit the Cure JM Foundation, a nonprofit focused on juvenile myositis. Registration opens at 9 a.m. Besides the one-mile family fun walk, there will be entertainment, food trucks, an inflatable obstacle course, games and prizes.
