Chocolate at gala for DVS
Reservations are requested by Thursday for the annual Chocolate and Wine Lovers’ Gala to benefit Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County. The event is to be held 5 to 9 p.m. March 16 at the Tulalip Resort Casino. Tickets are $95 and include dinner.

Neighborhood night at fire station
South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue invites residents to a Neighborhood Night Open House, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Silver Firs Fire Station 13, 13611 Puget Park Drive, Everett. There will be a brief program at 6:45 featuring colors posted by Cub Scout Troop 331, a presentation by station firefighters and an update on what’s new at South County Fire. Tour a fire engine and medic unit, and learn hands-only CPR in just 10 minutes. Kids can participate in a “Call 911” activity.

Fix your broken stuff
Bring your broken items to the Repair Cafe, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and again April 14, in the Spada Conference Room at Everett Public Works, 3200 Cedar St., Everett. The help is free. Repairable items might include a broken lamp, ripped jeans that need stitching, a vase that needs gluing or a vacuum belt that needs replacing. Hosted by Washington State University Snohomish County Extension’s Sustainable Community Stewards.
Registration is recommended so you know what parts to bring with you. Walk-ins are welcome.

Sound Transit Oversight
Sound Transit is seeking a volunteer from Snohomish County to serve on its Citizen Oversight Panel.
The 15-person panel monitors the agency to make sure it meets commitments to build and operate regional mass transit. It meets twice monthly during normal business hours.
Applicants must be registered to vote within Sound Transit’s district and live or work in Snohomish County. They should have a background in one of the following areas: business management, engineering, finance, public facilities, construction management, government or public policy.
The agency’s board will review applications and confirm appointments.
