Jayapal hosts town hall
U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal hosts a town hall at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Edmonds Senior Center, 220 Railroad Ave. Jayapal, elected in 2016, represents the 7th District, which includes Edmonds.

Test parachutes (for kids)
The Stanwood Library plans a Spring Spectacular where kids can build and test parachutes in a wind tube and engineer their own whirligigs, straw rockets and loopy flyers to take home. The event is set for 2 p.m. April 5 and registration is required.

Art for adults
Adults are invited to a “Vibrant Vases” arts and crafts session, 2 to 4 p.m. April 5 at the Evergreen Branch Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett.
Line, contour, shading and patterning will be used to create fun and fantastical still-life drawings. Space is limited; registration is required. Ages 12 and older may accompany a participating adult.

Meet reptiles
Isaac Petersen will show a variety of reptiles and talk about their importance to the balance of nature at a free “Son of the Reptile Man” event aimed at kids, 11 a.m. Monday at the Sultan Library, 319 Main St. Certain animals will be available for petting following the performance (all dangerous snakes have been “de-venomised”).

Gift shop open
The Carl Gipson Senior Center gift shop is open to all, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Seahawks items, handmade cards, and inexpensive and nice gifts for holidays, anniversaries, baby showers, birthdays and more. The senior center is at 3025 Lombard Ave., Everett.

Gala coming for senior center
The Edmonds Senior Center’s “Flight to the Future” gala dinner and auction is set for 4:30 p.m. May 5 at the Historic Flight Foundation in Mukilteo. Tickets are $125 to $150, available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3338162.

Make blankets for kids
The Binky Patrol is a group of quilters, knitters and crocheters who make “binkies” for children in traumatic situations. In April, the group will meet at 1:30 p.m. April 8 in Marysville instead of its usual first Sunday because of the Easter holiday.

Project Linus also makes quilts and blankets to donate to Snohomish County kids who have experienced traumatic life events. The next Project Linus event is set for 12:30-2:30 p.m. April 10 (second Tuesday) at the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett, 3025 Lombard Ave. Materials and equipment are provided. Bring a sewing machine if you have one.
