Luminaries at the library
It’s adult craft time at the Evergreen Branch Library. Make paper-cut luminaries at the next Create at the Library event, 2 p.m. July 5. The library is at 9512 Evergreen Way. Space is limited and registration is required. Supplies are provided. Crafters age 12 and older can accompany a participating adult.

Hogwarts 101
Several branches of Sno-Isle Libraries plan Harry Potter-themed activities this summer. Kids can learn origami folds to send flying notes, create a “Monster Book of Monsters” — and, of course, get sorted and play Quidditch. Activities are planned in Granite Falls, Snohomish and Stanwood. Most require registration.

Mindfulness class starts
An eight-week “Introduction to Mindfulness” group is offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 10 to Aug. 28, at Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. The sessions are is free, but registration is required.

Addiction help: Park Ridge New Heart Ministry offers a free potluck-style supper 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, followed by a casual meeting at 7 p.m., offering recovery strategies for people struggling with addiction issues and their loved ones. Self-help groups for those living with multiple sclerosis are available in Snohomish County.
