Input sought for bus rapid transit project
Sound Transit is seeking comments to help develop the bus rapid transit route planned for the I-405 corridor.

Tutors needed for research study
The Oregon Research Institute is recruiting part-time tutors for a two-year federally funded research project based in Mukilteo elementary schools. Tutors would provide an extra dose of individual instruction for kindergarten and first-grade students who have difficulty with early reading skills.
Positions are paid. Tutors should have experience as a teaching assistant or other experience working with elementary-age children in school settings. Tutors will work up to five hours a day, four days a week, during two five-week studies that will occur this fall (October and November) and winter (January and February).

Local historian and educator Jack O’Donnell speaks about Everett’s boomtown beginnings in a free program at 2 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Everett Museum of History staff also will be on hand to show artifacts dating from the 1890s.

Roller coaster physics for kids
Explore basic physics at “Roller Coasters Rock!” at 2 p.m. Monday at the Mariner Library, 520 128th St. SW in Everett. School-age kids can learn about potential and kinetic energy as they create a marble roller coaster.
The program also will be held at 2 p.m. July 31 at the Edmonds Library, 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Mill Creek Library, 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Mukilteo Library, and 2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Brier Library.

Bubbles galore in Stanwood
A Family Bubble-Fest is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW. Experiment with different objects to make bubbles — tiny bubbles, giant bubbles, bubbles you can hold, even square bubbles. Learn how to make your own super bubble solutions for your continuing bubbleology explorations at home. The program will be outside, weather permitting.
