EVENTS
The road’s open — let’s celebrate
Seattle Hill Road fully reopened to traffic Aug. 25 after an $8 million widening project that included lane closures and three full closures over the two-mile stretch between 132nd Street SE and 35th Avenue SE.
Snohomish County invites the public to a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday to celebrate, noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Triway Grange Hall, 3509 Seattle Hill Road, Mill Creek.
Local drivers will still see crews on the road for minor finishing touches. That will include center-lane closures for utility work.
Final landscaping is planned for late September.

Painting with bubbles
Blow bubbles in paint and then see what it looks like on paper. Or try painting with baking soda, then spraying on vinegar.
Is it art? Or is it science? Find out at a bubble-themed event 4 p.m. Friday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave.
If the weather cooperates, the event might be held outdoors.
