New to Camano Island? Come to a free, open house-style event, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Island County Multipurpose Center, 141 N East Camano Drive. Learn about local parks and trails, and find ways to volunteer. Sponsored by Snohomish Conservation District and WSU Extension Island County.

Powwow in Edmonds
Edmonds School District’s annual powwow is set for noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in the gym at Edmonds Heights, 23200 100th Ave. W, Edmonds. All dancers welcome. Food, refreshments and arts and crafts.

Sausage Fest
The carnival rides are going up for this weekend’s Sausage Fest, an annual event held on the grounds of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2619 Cedar St., Everett. The festival runs noon to midnight Friday and Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. Live performances, beer garden, arts and crafts vendors, food and bingo. A shuttle will run from parking lot B at the Everett Transit Center.

Arlington airport day
Community Airport Day runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arlington Municipal Airport, 18204 59th Ave. NE. Airplane rides, helicopter tours, flight simulators, flyovers, face painting, displays and kids activities. Kids ages 8-17 fly free, thanks to the EAA Young Eagles program.

Hunter sight-in
The Marysville Rifle Club opens to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to help sight hunting rifles for the season. Another sight-in is planned for Oct. 6-7. Cost is $10.

Romanian festival
The Three Holy Hierarchs Romanian Orthodox Church hosts a Romanian Festival, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The church is at 6402 226th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace. Experience traditional Romanian food, music, dances and vendors. Admission is free. Free parking shuttle service available.
