Free movie on banning plastic bags

Watch the short documentary, “Bag It!,” at 7 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 215 W Mukilteo Blvd., Everett, with 350 Everett and Zero Waste Washington. Mushroom show

The Snohomish County Mycological Society will present its annual wild mushroom show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Floral Hall in Forest Park, 802 E Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. See wild mushrooms collected by members, find mushroom kits, take a free class on mushroom identification at 1 p.m., bring your own samples for identification, and more. Free, but donations accepted.

Coat drive for kids

Marysville police will collect donations of new coats, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 8713 64th St. NE. Other coat drives are set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 3 at Marshalls, 16414 Twin Lakes Ave., and 12-4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Fred Meyer, 9925 State Ave.

Coats collected will be distributed at the Marysville Community Food Bank’s annual holiday Toy Store.

Help make music

The Snohomish County Music Project welcomes volunteers. There are opportunities for audio-visual engineers, carpenters, event coordinators, painters and more. The Music Project is a nonprofit that focuses on making communities stronger through music. Programs include music lessons for children, and group music therapy for veterans and seniors.

Socktoberfest is Sunday

Neighbors in need can come for brats, root beer, door prizes, live music — and new socks — 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at United Church of Christ, 2624 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Gently used shoes also available, along with showers. The annual Socktoberfest event is put on with Our Savior’s Lutheran Church’s Local Mission Group.
