Fan Frenzy Bingo
The Monroe Community Senior Center plans “Fan Frenzy Bingo” from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 26. Cost is $25 per person and includes a nacho bar dinner, dessert and bingo. Represent your favorite sports team to win prizes. Alcohol available for purchase.

Wright to lead health board
Snohomish County Councilmember Stephanie Wright was elected by her peers Tuesday to serve as chairperson of the board that oversees the Snohomish Health District’s policies and budget.
The Snohomish County Board of Health is composed of city and county elected officials. Wright will take over for outgoing chairwoman Adrienne Fraley-Monillas, who serves on the Edmonds City Council. Wright called it the an honor to lead the 15-person board.
The Health District’s mission is to promote disease prevention, healthier lifestyles and environmental protections.
HEADS UP
Bus service to Seattle
Community Transit will operate reduced commuter service to and from downtown Seattle and the University District on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21.
Local service and Sound Transit Express service from Snohomish County will run on regular schedule.
MEETING
The Lynnwood City Council will hear a briefing from Sound Transit on the Lynnwood Link Extension of light rail.
The briefing is set for the beginning of a 7 p.m. work session meeting at City Hall.
