Welcome engines
The Bothell Fire Department plans a ceremony Feb. 9 to welcome two new fire engines in a tradition known as a “push-in” ceremony. The origin of the ceremony dates back to horse-drawn equipment, when firefighters would unhitch the horses and “push in” the fire engine.
The public is invited to the event, which begins at 11 a.m. at the downtown Bothell fire station, 10726 Beardslee Blvd. Light refreshments will be served.
