Coffee with a cop:

The Feb. 12 Coffee with a Cop event at Edmonds Community College in partnership with the Lynnwood Police Department has been canceled due to weather. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

Art awards: Everett’s 26th annual Wendt and Mayor’s Arts Awards, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, has been canceled due to the weather.

The new date for the event is April 15, with doors opening at 6 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave. The award winners are selected by the Everett Cultural Arts Commission.

Stay tuned on Tulalip history film: As of late Monday afternoon, it had not been decided whether the Tulalip History Project’s documentary film “Harriette ‘Hiahl-tsa’ Shelton Dover: Her Life and Legacy,” scheduled to be shown Tuesday evening, would be cancelled. It originally was scheduled to be shown 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Everett Public Library’s auditorium as part of the library’s Hands on History series. It’s likely to be postponed. Check www.epls.org or call the library at 425-257-8000.

Orca expert to speak at library

Book release

Everett author Richard Porter is releasing his new art book, “The Spar Tree,” at Narrative Coffee in downtown Everett. The event includes readings and music and is set for 2 to 3:30 p.m. March 23.

Edmonds art exhibit

Stop by Gallery North to view oil and pigment paintings by Chinese artists Hao Wang, Guochen Cui, Jinliang Li and Liwei Lang, in an exhibit called “The Echo of Faraway.” The pieces will be in the Edmonds gallery until the end of the month, at 401 Main St. The showroom also is part of the Edmonds art walk this month, 5 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 21.
