Poker run for hearts
To benefit the American Heart Association, a poker run is planned in Everett.
It begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 13 at Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill & Irish Pub, 122 128th St. SE. During the O’Donnell’s Tour de Poker, bicycle riders pick up playing cards at checkpoints along the way. There will be gifts for the best hands and door prizes.
Registration is $25 that day, or register at www.bicyclepokerrun.com.
There will be 26- and 44-mile routes.
New ride in Lynnwood: Folks in Lynnwood might be seeing a new ambulance around town. The city’s fire department is borrowing a rig from Mukilteo while its Medic One ambulance gets an overhaul, said Larry Hadland, who serves as the medical services officer for both fire departments.
The old ambulance will come back with a completely restored patient area, he said. The overhaul is much cheaper than buying a new ambulance, he said. Some of the parts being replaced had nearly 120,000 miles on them.
Benefit tournament planned: The Arlington American Legion Post 76 is looking for golfers to participate in its Toys For Kids tournament.
The tournament is scheduled for Aug. 20 at Gleneagle Golf Course, 7619 E. Country Club Drive, Arlington. 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The cost is $65 per person and includes cart, lunch at the legion and prizes.
Sign up at the Legion at 115 N. Olympic Ave., Arlington. Make checks payable to American Legion Post 76. For more information, call 360-435-3248.
