Oral hygiene 101
Learning about teeth and oral hygiene really can be fun. Maybe not at the dentist’s office but how about Friday night’s “Tooth-apalooza” at Imagine Children’s Museum. The museum will set up activity stations where young guests can play “Plaque Beware!” and practice brushing away plaque using a toothbrush and a hard boiled egg. Also, kids can make a stop at “Toothpaste — Your Teeth’s Super Hero,” a station that shows kids how sugar sticks to enamel and then they try and scrape it off — they are actually scraping candies off enamel tiles. At a third station, kids can create a “Brush and Go Bristle Book.” Kids can take home goodie bags that contain a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. Also there’s a story time featuring author Margie Palatini’s “Sweet Tooth.” Pediatric dentists will be offering free mini dental exams throughout the evening. Imagine Children’s Museum, which is usually closed on Friday nights, will be open for “Tooth-apalooza” from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. The regular $9 admission price will be waived.
Rummage sale: Clothes For Kids will hold a rummage sale, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday through Sunday, at 16725 52nd Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
Clothing, housewares, tools, electronics, books, toys, furniture and more will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the Lynnwood nonprofit, which helps provide wardrobes to low-income families.
“The rummage sale is an opportunity to clear our inventory of items that don’t fit our school wardrobe program while raising funds for much-needed new shoes, coats and school clothes,” said Nancy Laird-Burris, program manager for Clothes For Kids.
