Attention: “Star Wars” fans
Spend some time getting reacquainted with your favorite “Star Wars” characters up close and personal Saturday, all for a good cause.
Members the Garrison Titan Vader’s 501st Legion will be at BobaKhan Toys and Collectibles from noon to 4 p.m. It’s a chance to have photos taken with colorful figures when donating cans of food or nonperishable items that will go to the Volunteers of American Western Washington Food Bank.
Santa Claus will be there. The store is at 500 SE, Everett Mall Way.
Scholarship money up for grabs: The city of Monroe is accepting applications for the Association of Washington Cities scholarship. Students who are involved in city government or their community from across the state can compete for the money to attend college next fall.
The qualifications, application materials and other information can be found on Monroe’s website or at City Hall. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 4.
Christmas caroling: The Downtown Monroe Association invites anyone to join its members and local choirs for caroling along Main and Lewis streets from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. For more information, contact Ben Allen at 503-930-1638 or benjamina921@gmail.com.
