SPEED channel host Dennis Gage is to appear at the 30th annual Snohomish Classic Car and Hot Rod Display on Sunday.
The Snohomish Chamber of Commerce is organizing the event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. downtown.
The event is free for the public. People wanting to show their vehicles must register at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and First Street, and pay $20.

Make a blanket: Help make quilts and blankets to be donated to local kids who have experienced traumatic life events.
The nonprofit Project Linus is hosting Make a Blanket Day from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Pacific Fabrics, 10203 Evergreen Way, Everett. Materials and equipment will be provided. No experience required, but sewers are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines. Come for an hour or the day.
Volunteers are needed to help sew, iron, inspect, pin, fringe and tie. Snacks and door prizes are provided. Donations of yarn, fabric, sewing supplies or completed quilts and blankets are welcome.

Purple for cancer: Edmonds will turn purple Sunday with a PurpleLight National Vigil for Hope to call attention to pancreatic cancer, the fourth-leading cause of cancer death in the country.
Joan Mabbutt lost her husband, Buck, to the disease in 2004 and is hosting the event. The PurpleLight event is an effort of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and starts promptly at 7 p.m. at the Point Edwards Charter Club, 85 Pine St.
