A program will be offered Wednesday about possible effects of climate change on Camano Island.
It’s planned for 7 p.m. at the Camano Community Center, 141 N. East Camano Drive, Camano Island.
Hugh Shipman, a coastal geologist with the Washington Department of Ecology, is the speaker. The program is free.

Race to stop drug abuse: A 10-kilometer run and 2.5-mile fun run are scheduled for Saturday to raise money for Ryan’s Solution, a foundation that aims to end teen drug use.
The race, called “Steppin’ Out Against Drugs in Our Community,” begins at North Cove Park, behind the Lake Stevens City Hall, 1812 Main St.
The 10K begins at 9 a.m., with the fun run starting at 10 a.m. Registration and race form pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m.
